My name is Adam Maisto. I graduated from Montgomery Blair High in June 2013. During the 2013-2014 academic school year I’m trying something different.
On August 23rd, 2013, I moved out of my family’s timezone and my home city of Silver Spring, Maryland. On my own, as an 18-year-old who knows pretty much nothing about how the world actually works, I’m transplanting myself to Madison, Wisconsin. I knew that it would end up like this one way or another, but two things prompted my decision to do this:
- While college certainly isn’t in a different dimension – it is, by most definitions of the term, part of “the real world” – it exists in a vacuum. I would like to understand the world outside of this vacuum before I enter it.
- I’ve dreamed of living and studying in Madison all my life. Plans to do the latter of the two this coming year fell through, so I’m doing the first. I might end up getting to do both. (We’ll see.)
So, this is a blog about that.
By the way, about me: musician, writer, independent audio producer, angry feminist, semi-professional dork, coffee/tea enthusiast.
