This couldn’t possibly be a more insane last day than it is.
Last night I said very heartfelt goodbyes to Conor and Jamie after we played music with Malinda. We did an admittedly more folksy version of Coltrane’s “My Favorite Things” (Malinda knew the head and wanted to learn how to improv on woodflute. It sounded great, especially considering it was her first time!) One of my favorite tunes, and it made the goodbyes just a little bit harder.
Right now I’m sitting in a booth at the IHOP on the outskirts of Silver Spring. I just dropped off all of my dry cleaning at Zips so that it’s clean and pressed for the big move. Around 11:30 I’m blasting off to Centreville, 15 minutes off the Bay Bridge on the Eastern Shore, to shoot one last interview for this video that I was contracted to make by a former interning employer.
And I’m still not even close to packed yet.
Tomorrow is the big day.
